Barrette's Small Engines Inc. - SmallEngines.ca FAQ's

Why won't the cord pull out on my engine?

Every once in a while during a operation, the engine may stop on a compression stroke. This compression can create a pocket of compressed air and/or fuel, which can lock the unit up.

To relieve this situation, you can simply remove the spark plug from the engine and pull the cord. This will push out the compressed air and allow you to pull the cord.

Re-install the spark plug and begin to operate in accordance with the instructions in your manuals.

If further assistance is needed, please contact us by e-mail technicalsupport@smallengines.ca and a customer service representative will be glad to help you.
