Barrette's Small Engines Inc. - SmallEngines.ca FAQ's
Why is ice forming on my snow thrower during storage?
What may be happening is the residual snow left on the machine after use is melting from the warmth of the engine. Then after the engine cools, and if the unit is stored in an area where water will freeze, this newly formed ice is then interfering with the operation and controls the next time the unit is attempted to be used.
To prevent this type of icing and refreezing under these types of conditions, it is good practice to have the equipment operator clean as much residual snow from the equipment as possible, using a dry method such as a snow brush or compressed air, before storing the warm unit in an unheated area.
