Barrette's Small Engines Inc. - SmallEngines.ca FAQ's

I registered my product, why do I need to show the service dealer a receipt?

WARRANTY SERVICE REQUIRES "PROOF OF PURCHASE"

The reason that the service center requires "proof of purchase" (receipt, invoice, bill of sale etc.) is that it provides important information necessary to qualify your right to receive warranty service.

1.) It proves the exact date of purchase. Our warranties are time oriented and begin with the date of purchase.

2.) Possession of the bill of sale also indicates that you are the original owner ( these warranties are non-transferable ).

3.) Also, some units are sold from retailers as "used" or "reconditioned". These denotations or comments that the unit may have been sold "as is" are generally stated on the receipt.

Your warranty does specifically denote that the "proof of purchase" is required for warranty service. Please provide the proof of purchase to the service dealer for his review. The service center is responsible for providing warranty service in accordance with the terms of the warranty. If you have lost this important "proof of purchase" receipt, you may be able to obtain a copy from your retailer or credit card company.
