Clutch/Brake Pedal:   Some riding units are designed with clutch and brake mechanisms integrated into one pedal. Pressing the pedal partially will slow the speed of unit. Pressing the pedal all the way will stop the unit and free up the drive system which allows the operator to shift between gears more easily.
