The news around Barrette's Small Engines Inc. - SmallEngines.ca!

Today is the Day Engines Matter

May 29th, 2009:

Power. Performance. Durability. It's what matters most in your power equipment. Whether you're cutting grass, cleaning a driveway or deck, or keeping the lights on after a storm, it's the engine that matters when you need your equipment most. Briggs & Stratton wants you to know that - Today is the Day Engines Matter - and we can deliver what consumers need.

In March, Briggs & Stratton launched a redesigned microsite - ENGINESMATTER.COM - to better educate consumers that engines do matter. This microsite has been expanded to include information on engines for riding lawn tractors, portable generators, pressure washers, and snow throwers. Of course, there is still great information on walk-behind lawn mower engines too.

Did you know that eight out of ten leading lawn mower brands count on Briggs & Stratton to power more of their products than any other engine? The reason why is because Briggs & Stratton focuses on the features and benefits that consumers care about most such as easy starting, durability and reliability.

"One of the goals with the new microsite is to provide fresh and new information for consumers," said Anita Fisher, Marketing Communications Manager for Briggs & Stratton. "Visitors will find educational videos on engine starting and power right at their fingertips." Also included on the new microsite are four new videos that highlight Briggs & Stratton's commitment to sustainability (i.e. corporate social responsibility).

Another exciting new element on ENGINESMATTER.COM is Engine Eddie. Engine Eddie is a new viral marketing campaign that provides a fun and engaging way for consumers to interact with the Briggs & Stratton brand. Consumers can do some "Backyard Bragging" by sending personalized EddieGrams to family, friends and neighbors. A customized EddieGram can be created by uploading a photograph and adding a personalized message, which is then delivered via the Internet by Engine Eddie.
