Yard Smarts for Dummies
July 21st, 2010:
In March Briggs & Stratton offered its first ever Yard Smarts Boot Camp. In order to be one of the lucky 12 individuals to be chosen for this event, homeowners are asked to submit a brief video or series of photos expressing their need for landscaping knowledge to the yard Smarts Boot Camp website.
If chosen, the new "recruits" will be whisked away to an undisclosed location in early fall 2010 for the weekend Boot Camp. Once the recruits arrive to camp, they will be supervised and trained by nationally known Yard Doctor, Trey Rogers, Ph.D. The Yard Doctor will teach the recruits numerous landscaping and beautification techniques to not only be used on their personal homes but can also be applied to the community green space within their neighborhoods.
In addition to the recruits weekend Boot Camp experience with the yard Doctor, they will return home to an assortment of new yard weapons including a lawn mower and pressure washer, as well as a $200 gift certificate which can be used for other smaller yard care products.
According to Anita Fisher, Marketing Communications Manager at Briggs & Stratton, "Our research tells us there are lots of first-time homeowners and young homeowners who don't have the skills they would like to have to take care of their lawn and yard and make it look great." She continues that, "This is a fun way to share knowledge and at the same time perform a community service project that otherwise wouldn't get done."
Briggs & Stratton is not only committed to the quality and longevity of their products, but also the customers' ability to utilize lawn care products to their fullest potential. Through events like Yard Smarts Boot Camp, Briggs & Stratton hopes to not only educate and beautify your homeowners and their properties, but also to foster eco-friendly community based lifestyles.
