Briggs & Stratton Launches Mower Tune-Up Campaign
July 9th, 2011: "Even I can do it, it's that easy!" In a new YouTube video, Briggs & Stratton President, Chairman, and CEO Todd Teske encourages consumers to tune up their lawn mower engines because a tune-up is not only an easy task, but also extremely beneficial for the engine. Regular tune-ups can help extend the life of the engine, while reducing fuel consumption by up to 30%. At a time when the average price for a gallon of gasoline in the U.S. has been hovering near $4 per gallon, doing a tune-up on your lawnmower, or other outdoor power equipment, could help you save money over the course of a mowing season.
The video is part of Briggs & Stratton's campaign to motivate more consumers to tune up their lawn mower engines using Briggs & Stratton Tune-Up Kits. The promotion encourages consumers to purchase a Briggs & Stratton Tune-Up Kit which includes exactly the right amount of oil, a new spark plug, air filter and fuel preservative for their specific Briggs & Stratton engine and to post a YouTube video of themselves performing the actual tune-up. Those who post their tune-up videos as a response to Mr. Teske's will receive a free Briggs & Stratton T-Shirt.
This campaign will help educate consumers on the importance of maintaining their lawn mower engines regularly in order to retain easy starting, extend mower life, and even reduce harmful engine emissions by up to 50%.
More lawn mower tune-ups will also lead to more consumers needing a convenient way to properly recycle their used engine oil. This is an opportunity for Briggs & Stratton dealers who participate in the Oil Recycling Solution to draw in potential new customers. To learn more about how your dealership can participate in the Briggs & Stratton Oil Recycling Solution, please contact your local IDN representative for more information.
Briggs & Stratton will be accepting consumer entries for the YouTube tune-up video promotion until June 30, 2011. If you would like to view Todd Teske's video, just go to
