Hattiesburg Rolls Out One Millionth KOHLER® Courage

Kohler Co. celebrated a milestone in August as the one millionth KOHLER Courage® single-cylinder engine rolled off the assembly line in Hattiesburg, Miss., an into a place of honor. The one millionth Courage single-cylinder engine signifies plant, which opened in 1997. In celebration of this occasion, associates at Hattiesburgtook the day to celebrate with a barbecue and be congratulated by Paul Bartelt, President-Kohler Engines and other Kohler Co. personnel
"To build one million engines in any location is significant," said Bartelt. "It's a reflection of a good product, a quality production plant and a great group of people who make the product."
Plant Manager Mike Thompson added that the success of the Courage engine line reflects the growth of Kohler's presence in the small-engine consumer market and affirms Kohler's place as an industry leader. Shortly after the engine was pulled from the assembly line, it received a silver-coated blower housing and was placed in the Hattiesburg plant as a testament to the hard work and dedication that Hattiesburg associates have relentlessly shown.
The Courage single-cylinder engine was launched in 2003 and is available in eight models ranging from 15 to 22 hp. KOHLER Courage engines are engineered to be consumer-friendly and easily adaptable to existing turf equipment, such as lawn tractors, garden tractors and zero-turn radius mowers.
The Hattiesburg plant manufactures both the KOHLER Courage single-and twin-cylinder models.
