We understand that this component will wear during normal use, so this part has been designed to be reversible for extended life. Examine the shave plate, it is purposely symmetric. Simply remove the plate, turn it around, and re-install. This will allow the shave plate to operate with a clean, unworn ground edge. Once both sides are worn out, the shave plate should be replaced with a new one.
